What's included

  • Conversion of scan meshes (STL, OBJ, 3MF) into solid, editable CAD
  • Parametric remodeling with design intent, not just surface patches
  • Deviation checks comparing the model to the scan
  • Drawings for the recreated part
  • Scanning arranged through our brother studio, Synthis 3D, if you need it

Who it's for

Maintenance teams replacing obsolete parts, shops quoting from a sample, and product owners who need to modify or document an existing design.

Deliverables

We accept and deliver native Autodesk Fusion (.f3d/.f3z), STEP (.step/.stp), SolidWorks (.sldprt/.sldasm), Inventor (.ipt/.iam), STL, OBJ and 3MF, plus PDF drawing sets. Ask about other formats. We design in Autodesk Fusion, so we can share your model through a Fusion cloud link you can open in any web browser, or invite you to our Fusion hub to review, comment on and download designs as they progress.

Recent work

How it works

  1. Send your scan files, or the part itself for scanning.
  2. We agree on accuracy needs and which features matter most.
  3. We rebuild the part as clean CAD and check it against the scan.
  4. You receive the model, drawings and a deviation summary.

Need parts printed from your CAD? Our brother studio, Synthis 3D, prints prototypes and short-run parts from the same files. Visit Synthis 3D.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work from a scan I already have?

Yes. Send the mesh or point cloud file and we will review its quality before quoting.

How accurate is scan-to-CAD?

Accuracy depends on the scan and the part. We discuss tolerances up front and verify the model against the scan before delivery.

Can you make a part better than the original?

Yes. Once the part is in CAD we can fix wear, strengthen weak areas or adapt it for a new manufacturing method.

Do I need to send the physical part?

Not if you already have scan data. If not, our brother studio Synthis 3D can scan it for you.
